Only Tulips
This collection came from an accidental start to a painting. In this instance, paint ran down the page like a flower's stem and the painting theme was born. Why tulips? Tulips are fresh, varied in their colours and delicate and for my part metaphors for new beginnings, opportunities and new life signalling the arrival of Spring.
I enjoy repetition and the patterns that form from it. Developing this collection was particularly good fun as I played about with tilting the painting to allow the stem to drops.
As always as an idea develops I get more playful and why not. Does anyone else see more than this?
