The changes in the seasons evoke lots of different feelings and September more than most months with summer closing and autumn beginning.
In this newest work I am expressing this creative moment in the colours of the land and sky taking inspiration from the ploughed fields and dusk light outside my barn studio as I paint.
I am also creating a space where anyone who looks can imagine how silent it is sitting, or walking on the hillside.
One of the things I love as a painter is hearing viewers chat about places, associations and emotions that emerge as they engage with my work. I think A PEACEFUL SEPTEMBER EVENING will be very relatable and I look forward to listening to reactions and chatting.
