A Peaceful September Evening

For my part the changes in the seasons evoke lots of different feelings and September more than most months, with its endings and beginnings.

In my newest work I am expressing the moment in colours of the land and sky and indulging in cooler, muddy colours just like the ploughed fields next to my barn studio. Some might say they are brown, but when i look closely they are a whole host of colours. I think soil is fascinating.

I am also am creating a space where anyone who looks can imagine how silent it is and feel the physical air on their face and escape their thoughts or their tiredness at the end of the day and be reminded of a hill-top they love to visit. Or a less busy moment in life.

For my part it is a time of year that makes me want to write when the Geese fly and I am reminded of my love of storytelling with words and images.
