Lovebirds

This Collection has evolved from observations of birdlife. My use of "birdlife" is inclusive of ducks, pheasants, guinea fowl and geese. I enjoy a daily walk and use this to reflect on the natural world in my local area. I get so much pleasure and inspiration from what I see which is an absolute blessing.

This collection is inspired by my observations of pheasants ducks, pigeons, crows, swans, ducks nodding, which if reciprocated in a synchronized fashion was followed by mating. This led to me reflect on mirroring in our gaze and its purpose in romantic love and familial love and bonding.

The work in this collection inspires happy feelings and a very relatable theme and I had lots of fun with romantic floral paint-play in each painting's background. It is okay "to get pretty" in paintings and for them still to be serious, this is very much about what my art approach is about and I think this approach gives my work feeling. MONSOON LOVEBIRDS inspired further works with line ups of birds in the reeds, and the floral backgrounds in these with out any ink detailing inspired me to paint without ink more which is evident in future paintings.
