We all have places we would love to visit and our reasons to want to can be varied.
This week my mind and heart have been concentrating on familial love. As I picked up my paint brushes with a landscape in mind I focussed on someone especially dear to me and how her calling to Norway and Scandinavia led to a discovery of so much of her DNA being from there and her desire to share this.
During the last couple of years she shared northern lights and reindeers, fjords and mountain views with her mother and brother in the homelands that their shared ancestors (they never knew previously) came from.
I couldn't translate how the subconscious and the paint brush join on the page even if I knew. But strong emotions and deep thoughts find there own way as the haphazard nature of watercolour is resolved. From semi-blind beginnings a meaningful visual world is realised on the page.
